Your neighbor's child has fallen into a pool... She's not breathing. Would you have what it takes to help save her life?
The Akron-Princeville Ambulance has been proudly providing emergency medical services to Princeville and the surrounding areas for the past 23 years. During this time, we have responded to more than 3300 calls. We are pleased to be able to offer personalized care from 36 highly trained and motivated volunteers who are ready to respond to any emergency - big or small. We want to be able to continue to offer emergency and non-emergency services to the area, but to do this, we need your help. Our current staffing is stretched to the limit, especially during the daytime hours. Without more volunteers, we will be unable to provide you with continuous, quality, local ambulance service.
Do you have what it takes?
Did you know...?
- The Akron-Princeville Ambulance (APA) was started in 1980 to reduce the time a patient was forced to wait for an ambulance.
- APA received no state or federal funding, and exists completely on community donations and revenue from ambulance calls.
- APA charges the patients two to three times less than other local ambulance services.
- APA currently has twenty-two volunteer EMT's and fourteen drivers.
- Each EMT must maintain at least 120 hours of continuing education every 4 years.
